Pieces of Poems (in the Works)

Untitled #1

I would pay you compliments
But I can't even afford the attention
You claim to be accustomed to

You say I sometimes remind you
Of the men who had you first
Given second chances to losers
With me, you can't even disguise civility

In the middle of an argument
You don't fight fair
Mincing words to victimize yourself
For the sake of your argument
You never learned how to fight fair
Fight fair, fight fair, fight fair, fight fair

Don't bring a gun to a knife fight
Don't pull the trigger so fast
It will make the bullet tear through skin
Before you're given the chance to apologize
Like you would ever say, "I'm sorry"

Instead, you say, "I can forgive, but I can't forget"
And that's why this fight isn't fair
Only left in perpetual motion
Until, with a flick of the wrist
I am waving you "goodbye"
After my wrist risked itself to save the other wrist
From falling victim to your twist kiss
Only until you gain the power to dismiss

Untitled #2

I have a scar on my heart
For each girl
That I let in my bed

I have a tumor in my head
For each girl
That fucked me up

I have a black mark on my record
For the special girls
That sunk their teeth, deep, into me

.......................................................................

Untitled #3

I've a kaleidoscope heart
Filled with specks of many contrasting colors
Clashing, yet beautiful
Each color, a representation of a girl
I had the honor of mistaking
For love

Now I can twist and turn
My kaleidoscope heart
In varied directions
And the specks of colors
These girls made
Blend together
To make one magnificent mosaic
Of a broken heart

........................................................................

Untitled #4

The magnet in my heart
Needs a charge
From your end

Are you positive
Are you negative

The shards of glass
Penetrating my skin
Need removal
But their absence would leave scars

Are you a surgeon
Are you a knife
Are you an alcohol swab

The bullet in my ribcage
Needs to be discharged
Cannot breathe without deceit

Are you the chamber
Are you the trigger

The knife in my back
Twists a gaping hole
Pour salt in the wound
Extracted from tears cried

Are you the reason
Are you the alibi
Are you the cure

......................................................................

Untitled #5

I am the voice heard on the recording of my failures
Played on repeat
So all can hear
How disappointing I was
To the one I claimed to love
Whose unconditional love
Ran on the same loop as my voice saying,
"I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving
I love you, I'm leaving you..."
