Return to Poetry

A Harsh Reality I find myself Swimming In the sea Bound only to drown me When I stop to breathe Water fills my lungs It’s reaching heights Over me Sending me to new depths As thoughts of you No longer comfort me Instead, force me under Set to sink I find myself Wrapped up in you Like a life-vest The truth’s weight Pulls me further This undertow Will take me Where I go Only god will know Emptied thoughts of you The current is too strong To battle wits I will let my body Be taken With the flood When a harsh reality Sets in And the sea Delivers me
