Lots of Concerts to Catch Up On...

Between the Buried and Me celebrated the 10th anniversary of one of the best and most ground-breaking albums, "Colors" back at the end of September by playing it in its entirety at the Paradise in Boston and I was lucky enough to grab a ticket for the sold-out show, which also included three other great bands- The Contortionist (featuring a singer from Augusta, ME-- go figure?!), a great instrumental band, Polyphia, and a hardcore band from New Jersey called Toothgrinder.

A couple of days later, I got to see another sold-out show, this one featuring a band I didn't necessarily grow up listening to, but was happily introduced to them back when I was in 6th grade, thanks to my musically-super-cool cousin. The Pixies. Kurt Cobain's favorite band. I'd missed them a few times in the past when they've toured. This time around, I definitely was not going to regret missing the show, because I bought a ticket the day they went on sale. Although, Kim Deal is not touring with the band, they picked up a decent "replacement" in Paz Lenchantin (formerly of the supergroups A Perfect Circle and Zwan). An indie rock duo called Sunflower Bean opened for them and definitely rocked the crowd and got everyone ready. The Pixies played an astounding 32 songs during the night!

The very next day, just down the street here in Portland, I got to see Every Time I Die, again! This time sans a barricade separating the band from the crowd, which, let me tell you, makes for an even rowdier, amazing show. Another great hardcore band, who's toured with them previously, including the last stop in Portland last year, Knocked Loose opened for them, tonight as well.

I haven't been able to find any setlists posted for Every Time I Die's most recent tour. This was from August...
